Shopfront occupancy stream recipients

This stream of the 2025 Small Business Grants was for a small business that occupies a ground floor and street-facing commercial shopfront within the municipality that has been vacant for more than four months.

Cherry Pie – American Dessert Pies

Founded in 2021, this is a small batch bakery drawing on four generations of African American family recipes and Melbourne’s only authentic American style dessert shop.

Funding will support fitting-out their first brick and mortar diner in Docklands, creating an authentic North American dessert diner experience and allowing for an expansion of products and services.

Cupcake Central

Expanding their store presence into Melbourne CBD, this bakery specialises in handcrafted cupcakes and other desserts.

Funding will go towards fitting out their new CBD store on Little Bourke Street.

Neo Ceramics

A production and teaching studio that designs, makes, exhibits and sells a considered collection of ceramic objects and hosts workshops for community members.

Funding will support the fit-out of their new gallery, store, and production site in Kensington.

Primo's barbershop

With a focus on providing an inclusive and welcoming space, this barbershop is open to all members of the community offering both barbering services and a unique, local range of vegan and non-vegan grooming products.

Funding will be used to enhance their recently fitted-out store in Centreway Arcade, including the installation of a glass shop front.
