We’re making improvements to parking across the municipality. To keep the city moving, we’ve made it easier to find and use the best parking spaces to pick up and drop off passengers and goods.
Whether you’re dropping off your partner, picking up your friend, looking for a taxi or wanting to catch an Uber – we’ve got just the place.
Taxi ranks
You can find taxis waiting at 'Taxi Zone’ areas.
Strictly for taxis
Only taxis can stop in a taxi zone. Other vehicles, including ride share services like Uber, must not stop in a Taxi Zone for any reason, even for a moment.
We’ve provided a network of taxi zones across the central city where you need them, near railway stations, major destinations and hospitals.
Public pick-up and drop-off
You can pick up or drop off passengers easily using No Parking areas or get 15-minutes free parking when you use the EasyPark app.
Read the details below.
You can stop in any ‘No Parking’ area for up to two minutes, provided you stay within three metres of your vehicle. These areas are ideal to briefly stop your car to pick up or drop off your passenger and their luggage.
In the central city we’ve placed 'No Parking’ areas conveniently as the first space after most intersections, making them easy to spot and use.
Look for signs displaying the letter ‘P’ with a line through it.

You can park in any metered parking bay (for example, ‘2P meter’) and pay nothing for a short stop of up to 15 minutes when you use the EasyPark app. This is ideal when parking for a short while to pick up or drop off your passenger and their luggage.
Simply park and start a parking session in the EasyPark app, and stop that session when you leave. If you’re in and out within 15 minutes, we’ll waive the parking fee*.
*Fees are charged for all parking time if you park for more than 15 minutes.
For more information, see Free parking for up to 15 minutes.
Goods and services delivery
We provide loading zones for eligible goods and services delivery vehicles, as well as 15-minutes free parking when you use the EasyPark app.
Read the details below.
Loading zones are only for eligible vehicles and allow goods or people to be delivered close to their destination.
Not everyone can use loading zones. You must be driving an eligible vehicle and dropping off or picking up passengers or goods. Eligible vehicles include G-class registered vehicles, commercial passenger vehicles and vehicles with permanent signage fixed to both sides of the vehicle body. You can’t stop a regular passenger vehicle in a loading zone, even if you’re loading or unloading.

Loading zones keep the city moving by supporting the efficient delivery of goods and services. To accommodate evening parking demand, many central city loading zones are available for general two-hour parking after 4pm.
Loading zones may operate at different times depending on their location and local traffic and parking conditions. Always check the signs when you park.
You can park in any metered parking bay (for example, ‘2P meter’) and pay nothing for a short stop of up to 15 minutes when you use the EasyPark app. This is available for all vehicles. You can use 15 minutes free multiple times each day, provided you’re in a different EasyPark area number each time – which makes it ideal for delivery drivers or couriers.
Simply park and start a parking session in the EasyPark app, and stop that session when you leave. If you’re in and out within 15 minutes, we’ll waive the parking fee*.
