We’re making it easier to stay active with free community fitness classes in parks and gardens across our neighbourhoods.
More than half of all adults report not getting enough exercise, according to our latest health and wellbeing indicators, so we’re creating simple, accessible ways for everyone to get healthier, stronger and happier.
Along with the feel-good endorphins that come with exercise, being outdoors in green spaces can lift your mood and boost vitality - and staying active can reduce the risk of chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
Join in for zumba, tai chi, yoga, boxing and more – all led by experienced recreation centre staff. Whether you’re just starting out or already active, everyone’s welcome – whatever your fitness level.
Stay afterwards to enjoy free refreshments from Fruit2Work, giveaways from the Health Foundation and a chance to connect with your neighbours and meet City of Melbourne councillors.
