Online Portal how-tos

To give you more control over your health and fitness journey, plus provide more options for you to connect with us and manage your membership, all members have access to the Melbourne City Baths Online Portal External link.

The Online Portal gives you control over your membership or enrolment. Read the helpful how-to’s below to get started.

If you are a member, swimming lesson student or family, you will have an account set up. All you need to do is create your own password to log in. 

  1. Visit the Online Portal.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your membership or the student enrolment. 
  3. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If it doesn’t arrive within 10 minutes, make sure to check your promotions or junk folders. 
  4. Follow the link in the email and enter a password of your choosing.

Bonus tip: Don’t forget to bookmark the Online Portal for easy future access.

If you haven’t visited us before, or do not have an existing account with us, please visit the Online Portal. Select ‘Join now’ and follow the prompts to create a free account.

  1. Visit the Online Portal.
  2. Select ‘Forgot password’.
  3. Type in your email address and select ‘Submit’.
  4. If you have an account, you will receive an email prompting you to reset your password.
  5. If you do not have an account, a message will appear stating ‘Email address not found’.
  6. If you do not have an account, please proceed back to the Online Portal and select ‘Join now’. Follow the prompts to create a free account or purchase a membership.
  1. Log in to the Online Portal using your email address and password.
  2. Select ‘Account’.
  3. Select ‘Payment settings'.
  4. If you have a family account, you can select the member or guest you wish to edit at the top of the screen. The bank account sits under the responsible persons account details.
  5. Select ‘Add new payment method’.
  6. Select which payment method you wish to update and select ‘Next’.
  7. Enter new details and select ‘Submit’.

Most personal details can be updated through the Online Portal. If you need to update any information that can not be edited online, please contact Melbourne City Baths.

  1. Log in to the Online Portal using your email address and password. 
  2. Select ‘Account’ from the top menu.
  3. If you have a family account, you can select the member or guest you wish to edit at the top of the screen. 
  4. Edit your details.
  5. Select ‘Save changes’.

  2. You will be directed to the class booking page. If not, select ‘Book’ then ‘Classes’ from the options underneath.
  3. Use the filters and calendar functions to find the class you wish to book.
  4. Select ‘Book now’ next to your chosen class.
  5. Select the payment option that best suits you.
  6. Complete the transaction. You will receive an email confirming your booking.
  1. Log in to the Online Portal using your email address and password. 
  2. Navigate to ‘My Bookings’ in the top menu. 
  3. Select ‘Cancel Booking’ from the relevant class or facility booking.

  2. Navigate to ‘My Bookings’ in the top menu.
  3. You or your family members’ upcoming class enrolments will be displayed.
  1. Log into the Online Portal using your email address and password, or the email address and password associated with your family account.
  2. Navigate to ‘My Account’ in the top menu and ‘Skills’ in the menu below.
  3. You can use the dropdown to the left of the page to select the person whose skills you would like to view. Choose to view either your own skills, or skills of your family members.

Melbourne City Baths follows Royal Life Saving Society Australia’s Swim and Survive curriculum. Skills are assessed frequently throughout the year to ensure students are in the appropriate level. Skills are assessed on a 1 to 4 scale and can be interpreted using the below. 

1 out of 4 – Introduced
An assessment rating of 1 Is automatically given when a student moves to a new level. 

2 out of 4 – Understanding
The student is beginning to grasp the technique of the skill however can not yet demonstrate correct technique consistently. 

3 out of 4 – Developing
The student can now consistently demonstrate the skill, however there are small inaccuracies that require addressing prior to the skill being perfected. 

4 out of 4 – Achieved
The student can consistently demonstrate correct technique of this skill. 

Students must achieve 4 out of 4 on all skills to proceed to the next level.

Members receive 6 weeks of standard suspensions per year, per membership, which can now be applied online with no processing or wait time. Medical suspensions still require a formal request via reception or online form, accompanied by a medical certificate.

  1. Log into the Online Portal using your email address and password.
  2. Select ‘Account’ in the top menu and ‘Contract details’ from the options underneath.
  3. Select the member you would like to suspend. If you would like to suspend multiple students, you will need to follow steps 3 to 7 for each member.
  4. Select the contract you would like to suspend. If you have multiple contracts for yourself or family members, you will need to suspend each contract separately.
  5. Select the ‘Suspend contract’ button at the bottom of screen.
  6. Select ‘Swim School Standard’ as the suspension option and then select ‘Next’.
  7. Select the date of the lesson you would like to suspend as the ‘Suspension start date’. ‘Suspension end date’ will automatically populate. Select the ‘Reason’ then select ‘Confirm’.

Please note: you will need to suspend each week of lessons separately.

Members can edit and remove suspensions online, prior to their start date.

  1. Log into the Online Portal using your email address and password.
  2. Select ‘Account’ in the top menu and ‘Contract details’ from the options underneath.
  3. Select the member whose suspension you would like to remove or edit.
  4. Select the contract you have suspended.
  5. Select the ‘More options’ button at the bottom of screen. You can now view your suspensions.
  6. Select ‘Edit’ next to the suspension you would like to edit or remove.
  7. Update the suspension details and select ‘Confirm’ or select ‘Remove suspension’ to delete from the system.

Frequently asked questions

A replacement membership card or wristband costs $5.20 and can be purchased from our friendly Guest Experience Team at the front desk.

No. Individuals are required to sign up to their own membership. Upon signing up, a membership photo will be taken to ensure members are not sharing their membership with others.

General membership suspension Melbourne 

City Baths memberships may be suspended for a minimum of five days and must be arranged prior to the start date of your suspension period. 

Medical membership suspension 

You can suspend your membership if you are unwell for any period of time by providing a medical certificate with start and end dates. 

Refer to the current Terms and Conditions for more detail on your suspension entitlements and fill out our online suspension form to complete your request. 

Cancelling your membership 

If you wish to cancel your membership at Melbourne City Baths, please complete our online cancellation form {with at least 14 days notice).
