Limited kerbside spaces are available in the CBD for parking up to two hours.
Taxi and rideshare services also make it easy to get around without needing to park.

Council operated car parks
City of Melbourne operates four off-street car parks, located in the central city and Carlton.
Our car parks provide short-term parking at slightly below commercial rates.

Please note that the car parks are clearly signed ‘P Meter Area’ on entry and are subject to the Road Rules. Fees are payable for parking time and the City of Melbourne may issue infringement notices for parking offences in these specific car parks. City of Melbourne has several private parking agreements and private enforcement agreements in place across the municipality.
These agreements can help prevent illegal or unauthorised parking on private property or privately owned roads.
Our parking enforcement officers can issue fines on private property if the property owner has an agreement with us.
