Melbourne Awards

Melbourne is a thriving city thanks to its diverse and ever-evolving community of people, projects and initiatives. Since 2002, the Melbourne Awards has provided a platform to recognise the people who make our city an inclusive, creative and forward-thinking place we can all be proud of.

Your story shapes our city

Entry and eligibility

There is no cost to enter.
Open to businesses, groups, projects or individuals.
Entrants do not need to be living in the City of Melbourne, however your project must impact the city directly.
Previous entrants who did not receive a Melbourne Award are eligible to re-enter the awards. Past winners may not enter the same category for a period of two years after receiving a Melbourne Award.
You may not enter the same project or organisation in more than one category. For a detailed summary of each category please see award categories and selection criteria.

*ganbu guljin means 'one mob' in Woi-wurrung language. This name is intended to better recognise the important work of Aboriginal communities.

Melburnian and Young Melburnian of the Year

The Melburnian and Young Melburnian of the Year awards recognise inspirational role models who have made an outstanding contribution to the city in their chosen field, as well as a significant impact to the Melbourne community.
