Aboriginal Business Support

If you're starting or growing your business you may want to check out Indigenous Business Australia’s (IBA) External link range of products, services, advice and networks.

Aboriginal Business Victoria External link also promotes opportunities for Aboriginal business in Victoria as part of the delivery of the Tharamba Bugheen, Victorian Aboriginal Business Strategy.

Established in 2018, Kinaway Chamber of Commerce's External link primary focus is providing policy, advocacy and representation services to Aboriginal businesses and entrepreneurs. They also provide services, support and products to assist Aboriginal businesses and entrepreneurs to be commercially sustainable, profitable and innovative.

Our commitment to sustainable procurement

The City of Melbourne is committed to supporting the economic participation and development of Aboriginal businesses.

In our Sustainable Procurement Strategy, we have committed to an Aboriginal Procurement Strategy to leverage our spending to drive demand for Aboriginal goods and services. We aim to stimulate Aboriginal economic development and grow the Aboriginal business sector directly through contracts and indirectly through major suppliers via subcontracting opportunities.

We are also members of Kinaway External link and Supply Nation External link, Australia’s premier listings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future.
