Terms and conditions for Business in Melbourne promotional package giveaway

  1. This promotion is being run by the City of Melbourne (ABN: 55 370 219 287). The City of Melbourne manages the Business in Melbourne newsletter.
  2. Information on how to apply form part of these terms and conditions.
  3. Only residents of Australia over the age of 18 can apply.
  4. By applying you all accept all the following terms and conditions.
  5. Eligible applicants are permitted to apply only once via the Business in Melbourne newsletter subscribe form.
  6. To be eligible to apply you must subscribe to the Business in Melbourne newsletter and be a new subscriber. If you are a current subscriber you are not eligible to apply for the promotional package.  
  7. Employees of the City of Melbourne and their immediate families are not eligible to apply.
  8. You may not submit an application (subscribe) on behalf of someone else.  
  9. Applications can be made by subscribing to the Business in Melbourne newsletter via the online subscribe form and closes at 11.59pm Saturday 28 February, unless extended. Late applications will not be considered.
  10. The promotional package consists of:  
    • One business profile story on Melbourne News
    • One feature in our fortnightly Business in Melbourne newsletter
    • One feature on City of Melbourne’s corporate social media account/s  
    • One feature on Invest Melbourne’s LinkedIn account
    • One feature on the inside back cover of an upcoming edition of Melbourne Magazine.
  11. The successful applicant will be selected at the City of Melbourne Strategic Communications Branch, by 4pm on 2 March 2026 at the City of Melbourne, Melbourne Town Hall, Swanston Street, Melbourne.  
  12. The successful applicant will be notified and informed of how to accept the promotional package via email. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  13. To accept the promotional package the successful applicant, when notified, must work with the City of Melbourne as per the instructions given, by date and times given, or else the promotional package is forfeited.  
  14. If the successful applicant does not accept the promotional package in accordance with these terms and conditions, the package will be forfeited.
  15. The promotional package is not exchangeable or transferable. The City of Melbourne will not be responsible if the promotional package becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its control.  
  16. To the full extent permitted by the law, the City of Melbourne excludes liability for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity, revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion.
  17. The City of Melbourne reserves the right in its absolute discretion to disqualify any individual who the City of Melbourne has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct.  
  18. The City of Melbourne reserves the right to alter or amend these terms and conditions at any time and to cancel the promotion without further recourse to the applicants.
  19. The City of Melbourne is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer, online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, including any injury or damage to participants resulting from participation or sending or receiving of any communication or of any materials in this promotion.  
  20. The City of Melbourne will need the applicants’ name and email address in order to contact them. The City of Melbourne’s privacy policy and Melbourne News collection statement is available at Website privacy statement.
  21. If the information requested is not provided, the applicant may not participate in the promotion.
